Anita Baker announces 'The Songstress' anniversary tour

Iconic rhythm and blues singer Anita Baker has announced a return to the road in 2023 celebrating the 40th anniversary of her debut album 'The Songstress'. The 15-city tour kicks off February 11th in Hollywood and continues through December hitting major markets like Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guest Babyface. The artist recently wrapped up another Las Vegas residency earlier this year which took place at the Venetian Theatre.

Baker's 1983 album 'The Songstress' reached #12 on Billboard's R&B chart and includes the singles 'Angel', 'You're the Best Thing Yet', 'No More Tears' and 'Feel the Need'. Her seventh and final album 'Christmas Fantasy' dropped in 2005 and features a guest appearance by The Yellowjackets on the track 'O Come, All Ye Faithful'. Since 1987, the legendary singer-songwriter has received numerous accolades including 8 Grammy Awards, 4 American Music Awards and 7 Soul Train Music Awards. She was also inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame back in 2013.
