MC5's Wayne Kramer announces 'Kick Out the Jams' tour
Wayne Kramer has announced a return of MC5 in 2022 during a sizable U.S. tour along with their first album in 51 years. The 8-city excursion takes place in May making stops in Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. In addition to Kramer, look for a touring lineup including Brad Brooks, Stephen Perkins, Vicki Randle and Stevie Salas.
MC5's next album will be released in October 2022 and includes the song 'Heavy Lifting' which features guest appearances by Tom Morello, Don Was, Brad Brooks and Abe Laboriel Jr. Back in 2018, Kramer launched his Kick Out the Jams Tour which celebrated the band's 50th anniversary and was joined by Kim Thayil, Brendan Canty, Dug Pinnick and Marcus Durant. Since forming in 1963, the Detroit-based punk pioneers have been nominated 3 times for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2002, 2016 and 2018).
