Joan Baez announces farewell tour

Veteran singer-songwriter Joan Baez has announced her final tour of her illustrious career taking place in 2018. After a massive European run through the spring/summer, the tour heads to North America starting September 11th in Ithaca and continues into November. Notable U.S. cities on the schedule include New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, Seattle and Los Angeles. Canadian dates are planned for Montreal and Toronto.

UPDATE: Tour dates have been extended into 2019 with an additional 14 cities on the agenda. The new spring trek kicks off April 10th in Birmingham and runs into May visiting markets like Atlanta, San Antonio, Dallas, St. Louis, Washington, DC and New York.

Baez released her latest studio album 'Whistle Down the Wind' on March 2nd, 2018 via Proper Records. The new album follows up 2008's 'Day After Tomorrow' which reached #128 on the Billboard 200. Back in 2016, she released another live album '75th Birthday Celebration' which includes a CD and DVD of a performance at NYC's Beacon Theatre. The folk singer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 7th, 2017.
