The Mars Volta announce reunion tour

For the first time in 10 years, The Mars Volta will be reuniting for a major North American tour launching later in 2022. The 13-city excursion kicks off September 23rd in Dallas and stretches into October visiting most major markets including Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Washington DC, Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Joining the tour in support will be special guest Teri Gender Bender from Le Butcherettes.

UPDATE: Tour dates have been extended into 2023 making additional stops in Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Tempe, El Paso, San Antonio, New Orleans, Houston, Montreal and Pittsburgh.

The Mars Volta recently released their brand new song 'Blacklight Shine' on June 21st, 2022 via Clouds Hill Recordings. Their latest 2012 studio album 'Noctourniquet' reached #15 on the Billboard 200 and includes the single 'The Malkin Jewel'. Later that year, the band broke up over disagreements between founding members Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala. Back in 2009, their track 'Wax Simulacra' won Best Hard Rock Performance at the Grammy Awards.
