Weezer announce 'Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour'
Punk icons Weezer have announced an enormous 2024 tour across North America celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut self-titled album. Their Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour takes place in September/October making notable U.S. stops in New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Canadian shows are planned for Toronto and Vancouver. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guests The Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr.
Weezer's debut 1994 'Blue Album' was certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA and won 4 MTV Video Music Awards including Breakthrough Video and Best Alternative Video. Their latest 2021 album reached #1 on Billboard's Rock chart and follows up 2021's 'OK Human' which features a 38-piece orchestra. The same year, the veteran band joined forces with Green Day and Fall Out Boy for their Hella Mega Tour along with support from The Interrupters. Back in 2023, their own Indie Rock Road Trip was joined by Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Spoon, Momma, Joyce Manor and White Reaper.
