The Flaming Lips extend 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots' tour

Neo-psychedelia troops The Flaming Lips have announced a new batch of U.S. tour dates in 2024 celebrating the 20th anniversary of their most successful album 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots'. The 18-city excursion kicks off April 20th in Jacksonville and runs through July visiting further markets like Birmingham, Lubbock, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Louisville, Grand Rapids and Pittsburgh. Also during the year, the band will be making festival appearances at High Water, Pure Imagination and 4848.

The Flaming Lips' 2002 album 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots' was certified Gold by the RIAA and includes the singles 'Do You Realize??', 'Fight Test' and 'Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell' along with its title track. Their latest 2020 album 'American Head' reached #25 on Billboard's Rock chart and features a guest appearance by Kacey Musgraves on the song 'God and the Policeman'. The following year, the Grammy-winning band launched their American Head Tour which stretched into 2022 and was joined by special guests Particle Kid and Heartless Bastards.
