Apocalyptica announce 'Plays Metallica Vol. 2' tour

Finnish cello thrashers Apocalyptica have announced an epic North American tour in early 2025 promoting their brand new album 'Plays Metallica Vol. 2'. The 24-date trek kicks off February 6th in Washington, DC and stretches into March making additional U.S. stops in Brooklyn, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Dallas. Canadian shows are planned for Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. Joining the tour in support will be special guest Nita Strauss.

Apocalyptica released their 10th studio album 'Plays Metallica Vol. 2' on June 7th, 2024 via Throwdown Entertainment. The new album follows up 2020's 'Cell-0' which reached #13 in their home country of Finland and features a guest appearance by Nightwish's Troy Donockley on the track 'Fire & Ice'. Two years later, the band launched their Cell-0 Tour along with support from Lacuna Coil, Leprous and Wheel. Back in 2017, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their classic album 'Plays Metallica by Four Cellos' with a huge North American tour which continued into 2019.
